Read full descriptionMake finger puppets with guest artist Maya Noga Djiji. In this workshop, we will use fabric, yarn, buttons, needles, and thread to create little finger characters that can be simple or intricate depending on the student’s level.
Come take inspiration from a selection of works from the Floss Editions archive, and create your own single-page, eight-fold zine to be printed on-site using the Art Lab’s risograph machine.
Take inspiration from the Fluxus scores and boxes on view in the exhibitions Fluxus Reverb: Events, Scores, Boxes & More and by Alison Knowles: A Retrospective (1960–2022), and come assemble your own Flux Kit in the Art Lab using reproductions of various scores from the BAMPFA Steven Leiber Conceptual Art Study Center, as well as ones we come up with as a group.
Join Art Lab teaching artist Micaela Martinez Saavedra, and learn the process for making small cloth dolls with needle and thread.
This workshop is intended for ages 7 and older. Space is limited. RSVP required.
