Fabric Postcard Workshop

Discover the joy of working with fabric and thread and create your own miniature quilt. Join quiltmakers from Hello Stitch Studio and Stacey Sharman Studio to explore the art of quilting. In this hands-on session, participants are invited to play with fabric, scissors, and sewing machines to craft their own unique collaged postcards. Fabric from collector Eli Leon’s personal stash will be available for use to create your own mini masterpiece.

Hello Stitch Studio was created in 2017 with the concept of creating a modern interpretation of the quilting bee. This begins by offering classes for sewing enthusiasts of all levels, from those who have never touched a sewing machine to folks who want to learn more expert techniques for quilts, garments, and art pieces. They also provide a variety of quilting services.

This workshop is offered in conjunction with the exhibition Routed West: Twentieth-Century African American Quilts in California.
