November 13 was a gorgeous day and the students were all smiles at the third annual BAM/PFA Fall Arts Fest. A wide variety of student groups exhibited their talents at the afternoon event, which bridged the gap between visual and performing arts. Sculptural installations reconstructed the space in the museum's Sculpture Garden, and stunning photographs were displayed in a student-curated show of works from the ASUC photo club. Students from the architecture department screened experimental works in the Museum Theater as students battled in the Chalk Art Competition along the garden pathways. Hands-on workshops engaged enthusiastic festivalgoers in a variety of sculptural media.
In the galleries and outdoor terraces, performances by campus groups mesmerized audiences. Cal Wushu demonstrated martial arts, and China Dance Theater, Danceworx, BARD, Dance Junta, and Satrang danced around the globe. Cal Slam hosted a passionate poetry slam in the Museum Theater. As the day came to a close, Cal band My Two Friends mesmerized the audience with smoky vocals, keyboard, and violin accompaniment.
