On February 6 BAM/PFA Director Larry Rinder, Chief Curator Lucinda Barnes, and MATRIX Curator Elizabeth Thomas joined 25 members of our Collectors’ Circle for a lively and engaging afternoon of visits to the studios of three exciting Bay Area artists: photographer Paul Schiek, photographer Jim Goldberg, and interdisciplinary artist Lucas Murgida. The Collectors’ Circle group worked closely with Larry and our curators to identify these three artists as those whose work will be acquired for the museum’s collection this year-and our members were eager to learn more about them. The next step in the acquisition process, the studio visit, was even more inspiring than we expected. We’re already looking forward to next year.
