BAMPFA Senior Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art and Phyllis C. Wattis MATRIX Curator Apsara DiQuinzio, who organized New Time, introduces the exhibition, addressing work in each of its eight thematic sections.

New Time presents a kaleidoscopic view of contemporary feminist artistic practices of the last 20 years. This landmark exhibition is international, intergenerational, and gender-inclusive in its scope, highlighting a diverse roster of emerging and established artists who have shaped the trajectory of contemporary art. Work by over 75 artists and collectives unfolds across spaces throughout the museum, including a program of film and video screenings and a site-specific commission for BAMPFA’s Art Wall.
